Tybrid - Oded Ezer's typo hybrids is a new work created specially for an invitational poster exhibition themed "My favorite Game", that is going to be held in July 2007 in Ithaca, and in September in Athens, Greece.
'Tybrid' consists of 4 squares (each 50x50 cm) combined together, forming the Hebrew word for 'Typography'.

Typography researcher Yehuda Hofshi commented: "...In this work, Ezer deals with formal intersections between traditional Hebrew letters and various object silhouettes, consciously ignoring "logical" context. He freely and intuitively releases himself from ergonomic and functional restrictions, using methods and materials he developed in some of his former experimental works. Influenced by Dadaist methods and contemporary virtual hybridizations of animals and human beings, Ezer treats this work as a suggestion for typographic/visual expression, something to look at and not necessarily to write with. These typo hybrids suggest a more playful and humorous attitude to typography, a field that often suffers from an unjust reputation of an overly strict and serious one."
